Code of Conduct

Prop Revolt is a game about hiding from each other and then ambushing each other as furniture. That is meant to be funny, and it stays funny only as long as nobody is being made miserable on purpose. This page says where the line is, so that nobody has to guess and nobody can claim they did not know.

It applies to my Discord server, to in-game chat and names, to bug reports, and to anywhere else I host a conversation.

• ▸Treat other players as people, including the ones who just tackled you as a fridge.
• ▸Let people play badly in peace. Everyone was new once, and losing is half the game.
• ▸Keep it roughly age-appropriate – assume a teenager is reading, because one is.
• ▸Use the channel a topic belongs in, and take heated arguments out of the ones meant for playing.
• ▸Follow the instructions of moderators. If you think a call was wrong, say so calmly afterwards.

There is no warning quota to use up first. These end participation:

• ▸Harassment, bullying or targeted pile-ons.
• ▸Slurs or hostility based on origin, skin colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or appearance.
• ▸Sexual content involving minors, or sexualising a minor in any way. This is reported to the authorities, not merely moderated.
• ▸Threats of violence, encouragement of self-harm, or wishing harm on someone.
• ▸Publishing someone else’s personal information without their consent.
• ▸Impersonating me, the moderators, or another player.
• ▸Advertising, referral links, scams, phishing, key resale or account trading.
• ▸Sharing pirated builds, cracks or content that infringes someone else’s rights.

Using cheats, hacks, wallhacks, macros or third-party tools that give you an advantage over other players ruins the round for everybody in it and will get your access removed.

Bugs are a different matter. Finding a way to clip into a wall is not cheating – it is Tuesday, in Early Access. Report it and I will fix it. Deliberately exploiting a known bug against other players in order to win, after it has been reported, is where it stops being research.

Tell a moderator in the Prop Revolt Discord, or write to support@faesslich.de. Include what happened, where, and roughly when. Screenshots help enormously.

Reports are treated confidentially. I will not tell the person you reported who reported them.

Depending on what happened, the response is a word in private, a temporary mute, removal from a server, or a permanent ban. I aim for the mildest measure that actually solves the problem, and I reserve the right to skip straight to the last one when the situation calls for it.

If you believe a decision was wrong, write to support@faesslich.de. A real person will read it. Arguing with moderators in public channels is not an appeal and tends to make things worse.

Note that access to the game on Steam is governed by Valve’s own terms. A ban from my Discord or my servers is not a refund, and is not something Valve administers on my behalf.
